Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy

Peter Foster joined USC in January 2023 as an Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the Bridge Institute. His research focuses on the physics of living systems, with a focus on the cellular cytoskeleton and active matter physics. Previously, he was a Research Scientist at Brandeis University and a Physics of Living Systems Fellow at MIT. He received his PhD in Applied Physics at Harvard University and his undergraduate degree in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Iowa.
